Time to get serious....

Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Tuesday July 7, 2009
.
.
Friends, as you know there is a political element to my many and varied interests. I am concerned at this very moment about things like the 9/11 event and U.S. foreign policy. And, I think these things are logically connected. It doesn't take much brain power to make the connection as I think you can readily understand. For, right after the disaster in New York, Afghanistan was invaded, and in 2003, the nation of Iraq fell victim to U.S. aggression. Now, I use the word aggression here with some authority. Why is that? Because Afghanistan and Iraq were in no way a threat to the U.S. But, yet they fell victim to the U.S. military, one after the other. The reasons for the invasions are not because these countries posed a threat to the U.S. but because they are strategically located and contain much wealth that the U.S. is interested in. The U.S. is a global super power and that means that it engages in war from time to time to maintain its dominant position in the world. That is the simplest of explanations and none other is required.
.
Somebody did 9/11 and we really do not know who. We can only speculate on who the culprits were. There is the Official Conspiracy Theory and there are many other competing theories as well. Personally, I fall on the side of those who do not believe the official version of things and that is why I maintain thoughts as those found in my opening paragraph. All you have to do is to spend a few hours on the Internet doing some basic research and you will find out that the version that government supplied to you is most likely one big lie.
.
But, what I really wanted to discuss this morning was the state of Israel. Now, I spend a lot of time on websites that have discussion boards and I contribute from time to time on these sites. I am learning a great deal from these various sites that I visit and while I do I formulate ideas and theories in my mind. And, one of the things that concerns me is the activities of Israel and its relations with its neighbours. Over the last couple of years or so I have become a real critic of this nation. And, the origins of my beliefs are gathered by simply spending time on the Internet.
.
I really did not know much about the Palestinian issue, for example, until I started to read some of the articles on the net. Palestinians are a very oppressed people by all accounts and their land has essentially been stolen from them by Israel. Israel continues to build illegal settlements on their land as well and the Palestinians can do nothing to stop them because they have no power to do anything, except perhaps engage in some sort of ' terrorist ' activity in order to fight back. Now, the saddest thing about the whole issue is that the mainstream media in the United States does not inform you about what is really going on over there. And, they always seem to side with Israel, whether it is right or wrong. Israel, in fact, can do no wrong as far as it treats the Palestinians or whatever it does for that matter.
.
Also, over the last couple of years or so I noticed that all or most of the politicians in the U.S. support the state of Israel without question. It is almost as if the state was part of the U.S. itself when you come to notice the actions of U.S. politicians regarding Israel. And, Israel receives billions of dollars in aid every year and also maintains a very large military as well. In fact, it is the fourth largest in the world. Furthermore, Israel is also a nuclear power; a nuclear power among states that are not allowed to possess these devices, according to the wishes of the United States and Israel simultaneously.
.
Israel is constantly at war with its neighbours as well. There was a war with Lebanon not too long ago and another one with Gaza only recently. The thing that you immediately notice about Israel is that it practices a sort of overkill with regards to its enemies. It utilizes force that is much more than necessary in combating its foes. And, many of the victims of the Israeli army are in fact, civilians. For example, in the recent Gaza invasion, many have used the term " genocide " and " war crimes " to describe the actions of Israel and how it conducted itself against a largely defenceless population. The important point to note of course is that the Israeli actions were supported by the United States, and in fact were cheer led by many Americans, especially Jewish Americans.
.
So, all in all Israel appears to be a special case. It is a country that really gets away with murder as it were and the U.S., its staunch ally is not going to reprimand Israel in any substantial way. Also, many in the government of the United States are also Israel citizens. Some even hold key positions in the government. Some also hold dual citizenship. And, once again we learn that this is a privilege that is accorded to no other nation. The bottom line of course is that Israel is a special nation in the eyes of the U.S. government.
.
So, what does it all mean? Well, for me it got me to thinking that there must be more going on here than meets the eye. I speculated that Israel must really be just part of the United States. Or if it is not it might as well be anyway. I came to think of Israel as just an outpost of the U.S. you know, kind of like the forts in the western part of the States when the nation was still expanding.
.
Now, Israel was an idea of the British Zionists and they were instrumental in setting up the state. The Zionists in fact made a deal with the British during World War One and that is how the whole thing got started. The Zionists got the U.S. into the war with the help of the wealthy bankers. The deal was the Zionists would provide the money so as to make sure that England was successful in the war - and they were because they defeated Germany after all. And, the deal was that the Zionists wanted to set up a state in Palestine. And, that finally occurred in 1948.
.
But, you have to wonder what the real aims of the Zionists were. Why establish a country in the Middle East in the midst of hostile neighbours? Surely, there must be other places in the world that would do. No. The Zionists wanted to set up shop right smack in the middle of the Middle East and the oil fields.
.
Now, the Zionists may claim that religion was part of their decision to set up the country in that area, but I think you will find that that does not make much sense at all. Why? Because many of the influential Zionists are actually atheists, and that means therefore, that Judaism might not have much to do with the decision to locate there at all. And, if we examine the history of Israel since its inception I do not think religion plays any kind of a role at all. Israel seems to be more interested in expanding its borders and of keeping the people that it occupies in check. I think that is the simplicity of the thing actually.
.
Anyway, I do not want to ramble on forever here so here is my big point. I finally found some corroborating evidence for my beliefs about what is really going on vis a vis Israel and the U.S. And, the guy that supplied the evidence knows what he is talking about. He is a former employee of the National Security Agency, or affiliated with the outfit anyway via a private employer. That is the way I understand the connection. You may have heard of the name John Perkins. He was an economic hit man and worked in developing countries, basically trying to corrupt the leaders of various countries and to get them to play ball with the U.S. Below is an interview with him on Democracy Now. Scroll forward on the enclosed video on the link below to just past 35 mins into the film and listen to his comments about Israel and its relationship with the U.S.
