Getting married can be this much fun....

.
.
.

.
.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Friday July 31, 2009
.
.
A bunch of things on the agenda this morning friends. This is my last day at work and it is also the end of the month as well. So, things tend to be a little busier at work once you get near the end of the month and on the last day especially. Is that a word? I think it will be a pretty hectic day therefore.
.
I did not take any videos at work yesterday so I have nothing to post along those lines this morning.
.
Tomorrow is a racing day so just a further reminder to all of my friends and acquaintances that I am always available for you if you should happen to make an appearance. And, if you are popping into town from out of town don't be afraid to phone me if you want to go and are stuck for a ride. If you are coming on your own post time is 16:00 hrs local time for the racing at the Meadowlands in New Jersey.
.
I guess this post is kind of aimed at Karen and that is what the marriage reference is all about. My friend sent me this great link to this marriage ceremony and maybe some of you have seen it before. 12 millions views or something like that - incredible. I certainly got a bang out of it when I first saw it that is for sure. All I could think about of course was me getting married to Karen and how wonderful marriages can actually be. So, I guess this video is dedicated to Karen. Weddings really can be this much Karen so I hope you think about my proposal and doing something like this when you and I get married. It is possible you know. Well, something to think about anyway..

The Chilliwack River in the heat of the day....

.
.
.

.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Thursday July 30, 2009
.
.
Just today and tomorrow and then I am off again. Don't forget: racing on Saturday at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. So, if Karen or any other important person is popping into town then don't be afraid to show up or just phone me for a ride and I will come and pick you up. Post time is 16:00 local time.
.
The weather is still very hot and I was sweating all day long in the unit serving the customer. I made it out to Chilliwack and the Chilliwack River. In fact, I had a delivery going to the exact same place as the one I mentioned on the main part of my blog some months ago. You may recall that entry if you are a frequent reader of my blog. Anyhow, I couldn't resist stopping by the River and checking things out and taking a video with my camera. It was just so peaceful there watching that fast flowing River in the heat of the day. It was about 5 PM or something like that and I took a couple of videos of the River. Quite a few of the locals were in the River just enjoying nature and the coolness of the water. Many of them were farther down stream near the road that goes to Cultus Lake. There was a man and woman just off to the right of where I was taking my shots. I certainly did not want to invade their privacy so you will not see them of course. They were sitting in chairs right in the middle of the water just next to the bank. I guess, whatever it takes to cool down. It was really hot and the cold water of the River would certainly fit the bill. Here are just a couple of the videos that I took yesterday.

More beautiful weather....and more videos....

.

.

.

Good Morning Friends,

.

.

today is Wednesday July 29, 2009

.

Well, the party is over friends and now it is back to work. The weather is still very warm or hot actually, and I have been getting out and about in the car and taking some videos with my new camera. For example, last night I just jumped into the unit and took a drive down to White Rock. I do that quite a bit actually since it is such a nice pleasant trip. I usually go via Scott Road down to Highway 10, head west for just a tiny bit and then jump onto Highway 91 and then hook up with Highway 99. I took ten videos last night, but only posted three to You Tube. One was cruising down Highway 99 with Neil Sedaka singing in the background ( O Carol ). The next one was cruising down the strip in White Rock ( Marine Drive ) and listening to Neil Sedaka again with Calendar Girl playing in the background. The final video was shot while driving through Guildford while the sun was going down and getting darker. There was a contemporary song playing in the background and I do not know who the singer was or the song being played. I am just not that tuned in with the current artists and their names although I like many of the songs that are being played. One of the few names that I can think of is Beyonce and she sounds really good. I like " If I were a Boy. " quite a bit and if the song came on while I was driving I would have it in the background in one of my videos. It was so hot that I kept my top up while heading down to the Rock and only lowered it once I was on the way back north while the sun was in the process of setting. These are the best of times of course when you can feel the warm breeze while you are driving. So, here below is the last video that I took last night while cruising through Guildford.

More love song videos for you....

.
.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Tuesday July 28, 2009
.
.
It was another beautiful day yesterday and I took the car for a spin. I drove out on Highway Number One and around Surrey and then Langley. I even stopped in at a McDonald's in Langley. This is really gorgeous weather that we are having you know, almost story book in its quality and in its longevity as well. I took a few videos which I have posted on to You Tube already. I put one on Face Book and Twitter as well. Here is just one of them for you. You can see the rest by visiting the Video Bar off to the top right or just google cbaydalavideos.

I am still not sure what to make of the stock market and the recent gains. The gains may be related to real economic recovery, or anticipated recovery, and then again they might not be. Liquidity is still the issue of the day of course. I was actually contemplating shifting some cash into the Canadian stock portion of my portfolio, and maybe even some more Emerging Market stocks as well. But, for the moment I am still holding on and watching. My portfolio has advanced about 7% or so this year, but it is still down from the losses that I experienced in 2008. I need about another 5% gain to break even and to feel like I am really accomplishing something. But, I would need about a 10% further move up in stocks because I am more than 50% cash or cash equivalents. This is the last day off and then back to work tomorrow.

Predicting the future ....

.
.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Monday July 27, 2009
.
.
I am in a bit of a philosophical mood this morning friends. That means that I want to try and figure out the big questions of life and develop some sort of theory surrounding my ideas.
.
I want to start out with the idea of infinity and of the very idea that it is possible to predict the future. Now, I don't think many of us are very good at predicting the future at all. But, maybe we could be if we simply understood the past. For in understanding the past may allow us to predict the future. And, the rationale for my assumption is that since infinity goes forever into the past, it also goes forever into the future. So, the past and the present, and the future must be one and the same thing.
.
Now, the Greek philosopher Heraclitus watching the swift moving stream in front of him was able to say that nothing ever remains the same and all is change. Sounds like a reasonable assumption to me based on the facts. That is, that all is change and nothing ever remains the same. How can you quibble with such a statement? Well, I don't think you can based on your observations and experiences. You simply come to realize that your life, at any given point in time, is unique to that point in time. It will never be the same, because the conditions surrounding that moment in time will never be the same. The present, therefore, becomes a unique, one time event.
.
And, so it is with life, and you and me and everyone else. All of our lives are constantly changing and will never be exactly the same from one moment to the next. Well, that is fine and dandy of course because at least this kind of logic helps us to understand our predicament in life and helps us to realize that there are simply events and conditions which change as a function of time. Time being the thing that registers the idea that we have moved from one point to the next, and we assume that we have experienced change as a result ot the movement of time and of the events associated with it. And, the main idea behind the idea of time is that nothing is constant and that all is changing as a function of that constant flux that is all around us.
.
But, man's only real measurement of things is measured by his brain and his consciousness. These are his measuring tools. Man would never know that things move and never stay the same without some evidence to that effect. And, it is man's ability to know that allows him to form these kinds of hypotheses. So, another important component here is the simple idea of knowing. But, then once we know that gives up the ability to do something about our knowing.
.
And, what we know so far is that there is a past, a present, and a future. We have all experienced these things and that is how we come to know. Man thinks that he cannot predict the future. What gives him this idea? Well, in the past man has tried valiantly to predict the future, but not with much success. The reason for his non-success is simply the lack of information or the knowing. He cannot see the future because it has not occurred yet. But, does that mean that he cannot predict it even though he cannot see it?
.
Now, man has a difficult enough time just trying to explain the phenomena around him, let alone the conditions of the future or even the past. We know that man is somewhat more successful at visualizing the past since he has some data at this fingertips. The information might be contained in books, manuscripts and the like. Or, even word of mouth might give him some insights into the past as well. But, man's knowledge of the past only goes so far back as well. And, then he is stuck again - for the simple lack of information. After a certain period of time man is simply left with his own devices, which include his brain, his consciousness, and his ability to speculate and to create theories and hypotheses.
.
I think this is where man should focus his efforts if he wants to be successful at understanding the past, present, and the future. This is, fact, man's greatest strength and tool. His brain is the thing that is going to get the job done for him. Man, the rationalist vs the empiricist is going to have to be the person who is going to get the job done. Now, while we appreciate the efforts of the empiricists and their findings, their contributions can be nothing more than limited. They can only know what they know by experiencing. And, what they experience is limited by definition.
.
So, based on the above then, how do we predict the future if we cannot know it or see it? Well, I would say that we simply have to accept the fact that the future will be the exact same thing as the past. And, that is in spite of the fact that we know that the world is in constant flux and is changing all of the time. But, is it really? We know that matter never really changes from what it essentially is. It might change forms and manifest itself in different ways, but at base, it is what it is. Matter is not to be reckoned with. This is the thing that does not change. And, this is where we should be concentrating our efforts if we are to understand reality and this business of the past and the future. Both are infinite so they say. And, how can we disagree with that assumption? I don' t think it is possible for something to end actually. For if it did then there could be no beginning simply because you cannot create something out of nothing. So, this is where we say goodbye to the religionists of course; they are not even on the right track. They are trying to tell us that God created all, and they are trying to do this by thinking that something is created out of nothing. This is an absurdity and an impossibility. And, that is why we must acknowledge that nothing really changes even though it appears as though it is doing so. And, that is why Heraclitus is wrong even though he is right.
.
So, Heraclitus standing in the river sees the changes in front of him. He thinks that nothing will ever be the same because all of the conditions are changing all around him. But, he forgets about the past and does not bother to think about the future. He is only being influenced by the present which is acting all around him. He doesn't realize from whence this river came and where it will end up. Friends, I am trying to point out to you, that the past and the future are one and the same thing. And, I believe that the past and the future are coming together and manifesting themselves to you in the present. The present is nothing other than the point where the past and the future come together. It can be no other way. It is as if they are pulling in opposite directions, this thing called the past and the future, that is. And, that is why it is so important to understand the present. Because that is the only thing that man can really understand and know. Think of flinging a boomerang into the past or into the future. The result will be the same thing, and that is because both the past and the present are the exact same thing. And, how do we know that?
.
We know that because of the indivisibility of matter. Matter also was and also will be. And, if this is so then change is mere illusion. Change is simply a flux that is not really a flux, because something cannot be something that it cannot be. Just like the future can never be. Future is an illusion. The idea that the future will be different than the past is also not possible - even though you think it might be. Where is the proof you say? The proof is all around us. Everything is cyclical and everything is movement. But, that does not necessarily imply that things are changing to become something else necessarily. No, it only means that things are changing their form, but it does not mean that they are changing their essence at all. And, that explains why death becomes life and why life becomes death. They are one and the same thing. So, be happy that you are alive because that means that you are the result of the past and of the future. And, as I have tried to point out to you these are the exact same thing.

Driving home after a thunder storm....

.
.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Sunday July 26, 2009
.
.
Won about three triactors or so at the races but I still did not turn a profit. I even bet some races at Mohawk Raceway since they had such big prizes. I took a chance and won one triactor even though I really do not like that track at all - because, generally speaking my system does not work there.
.
It was a sunny and a hot day yesterday, and then it thunderstormed at night while I was at the races. And, then I drove home just after the downpour and took this shot for you. Not the best video quality in the world of course, but you get the idea.

Hot weather coming and Meadowlands going....

.
.
.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Saturday July 25, 2009
.
.
Well, the weather snapped back nicely from the break that occurred on Thursday. And, I can assure you that no one that I talked to was complaining about the respite. Everyone knows what great weather we are having and appreciated that a little break is not such a bad thing at all. It is supposed to be getting even hotter so I guess it is time to batten down the hatches so to speak. Here is a link to some local weather webcams and the weather forecast:
.
.
.
.
Not too many racing days left so I will have to try and make the best of them of course. Not that I do not do that anyway, but it bears worth repeating I suppose. I hope Karen and anybody else that might be interested finds time to pop in and check things out before they shut down there in New Jersey. So, once again dear Karen et al, don't be afraid to contact me if you are in the territory and need a ride. Here is a link to the schedule of the racing at the Meadowlands. Maybe keep this schedule handy if you are even remotely thinking of making an appearance.
.
.
.
.
Well, I do not have too much else to say at this point. I have to start getting ready for the hot weather and maybe wash up the unit before I go. Haven't washed her in quite a while actually so this might be a good time to do that. I have my camcorder all set up and ready to go so maybe I can get some action shots for you with the Miata. I don't have anything set up for the truck at this time and I have to do things on the fly so to speak. Still working on the dash and how to mount the camera there.
.
I don't know what happened to that video with Skeeter Davis; the thing was removed for some kind of a use violation. I really don't know what that means actually. And, it is weird anyway because there are other videos still available ( in some cases ) playing the same song. So, why penalize one and not the other? I don't understand how these things work actually. Let's see if I can find another video with Skeeter and this song..... Well, I couldn't find what I was looking for, but here is another song by Skeeter:

Only a few more racing days left....

.
.
.
..
.
.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Friday July 24, 2009
.
.
Last day on the job friends and then rest period again. The weather took a break yesterday so I guess that was the big news of the day. It even sprinkled a bit downtown as well. It tried to shine, but it just couldn't make it, until the end of the day that is. And, then it got brighter, but it never turned out to be a warm or a hot day at all. It was just a nice break from all of the hot weather that is all.
.
Just a reminder that tomorrow is a racing day and that if you are popping into town from out of town then don't be afraid to show up. And, to Karen and friends of course: don't be shy. And, I will even come and pick you up if you want to go so keep that mind. Only a few more Meadowlands racing days left and then it is all over. I will be taking a break of sorts and mostly working at the house and tidying things up. Well, that is the plan anyway if you know what I mean.
.
Here is a video of McDonald's Headquarters in Burnaby that I took while on the way home last night.

A cruise ship video for you....

.
.
.

.
.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Thursday July 23, 2009
.
.
Well, just two more working days and then I am off again. Boy oh boy the weather is sure warm, and it is supposed to get even warmer. Can you imagine that ..for good old Vancouver, I mean? This is like classic California weather that we are having here, just really awesome, and they keep on coming, one beautiful day after the other.
.
It was a fairly uneventful day at work yesterday. I am still working with my new camcorder and I am trying to get some good shots for you. I found a way to secure the camera on my car when I am driving around and that is because the dash is basically flat and the camera can sit there nicely. Still have a problem with truck, however, because of the curves on the dash. But, I will have to work something out because it is far too dangerous taking shots while I am driving and I don't want to give people any bad ideas either. So, don't take pics while you are driving or you probably will end up killing yourself and maybe somebody else as well. As soon as I am able I will have this thing secured in my unit and then things will be safe.
.
Here was a nice surprise from yesterday, however. I was just making a delivery right downtown by the harbour and I spotted a cruise ship sitting there. Well, you can imagine where my mind took me with that. Here is my short one minute presentation from work yesterday. I also have this short clip posted on You Tube as well.
.

.

Don't forget racing on Saturday if you are popping into town. Post time is 16:00 hrs local time. Not many days left for the Meadowlands in New Jersey so don't be shy. I hope to see some of my friends and acquaintances out there someday. Well, that is all for now talk to you all later.

9/11. The story continues to unfold....

.
.

.
.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Wednesday July 22, 2009
.
.
I think the world is waking up friends. Waking up to the notion that there is something wrong with that 9/11 story. Of course the general media would never let you know that of course. I get a kick out of watching these clowns on the mainstream channels you know. Television that is. Now, I don't actually watch t.v. as you know, but I am referring to the video clips that are available on the internet of course. Anyway, there is always the general attitude on the part of the television host that someone must be a kook for not believing that 19 Arabs pulled the whole thing off. They ( the t.v. hosts ) are either skeptical, indifferent, or they come down very hard on their guests. ( O'Reilly and Fox news come to mind ) Well, to my mind that is just very revealing that is all. Revealing in the sense that these people are most likely just fearful for their jobs if they get too comfortable with the idea that 9/11 was an inside job or that their government simply let it happen. Both are cause for alarm of course and the evidence is increasingly pointing to the fact that one of these two scenarios is the correct one. Anyway, I have been a believer ( in the idea that there is something wrong with the Official Conspiracy Theory ) for quite some time now and when I watch these 9/11 videos they only reinforce in my mind how corrupt and tyrannical the whole American system really is. But, the sad part is that there are still millions upon millions of people who are not willing, or don't even recognize that there is something terribly wrong with the system the way it is set up. Enough of the talking I suppose. Here is yet another 9/11 video for you and it really is a very good presentation indeed. The best that I have seen so far I think. Below is the link to the video since I could not get the video to imbed.
.
.
.

Well, it is back to work til Friday and then racing day on Saturday again in New Jersey. God, what a thrilling life I lead eh? Here is video clip that I took just yesterday while I was cruising about in the sunshine in the car. It is still very warm out here on the West Coast. And, like I said earlier, it is getting even warmer. Talk to you all tomorrow.

What kind of a politician would I be?

.
.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Tuesday July 21, 2009
.
.
I was just thinking about politicians and what kind of people they are. The bottom line, I suppose, is that the majority of them are a self-serving group and the politics that they practice only reveals their personalities to us anyway. And, what is the game of politics anyway except identifying the power that everyone has and then using this to your advantage. I like politics though because it just seems like somewhere where I would like to be. The whole idea of the thing fits my personality remarkably well.
.
But, my politics, however, might be a different kind of politics than most. I am actually quite an idealist you know and I don't like what I see going on all of the time. Politics in the States and in Canada is really a game that is played for the benefit of those who are in a position to benefit from what a politician does and the laws that he is able to create. That is the negative part of politics in my opinion and the part that gives the craft a bad name. And, this is especially so in the U.S. where politicians seem to answer to those who are willing to pay the most for their services. And, that is why there is really not much democracy going on in the States at all. That is my interpretation of things at any rate. It is the people with money who seem to get what they want. Of course that does not say much for the quality of the politician now does it?
.
As an idealist politician ( and that is what I would be ) I would be basically bucking the system more or less. I wouldn't actually be much of a politician in the modern sense ( primarily seeking monetary gain ) if I did not ally myself with those who would benefit me the most and take advantage of any given situation. In the United States example, I would end up being like Dennis Kucinich or Ralph Nader or anyone else who simply wants to make the system work for the guy who is not receiving much of the system. So, I guess I would not be a successful politician in the sense of being monetarily successful. But, I would be sticking to my guns and I would be doing what I think is the right thing to do. And, if you examine my life as I am doing in my blog you will uncover my personality and figure out just what kind of a politician I would be and what kind of a person I am based on my performance.
.
Here is another video that I took on Saturday night after the races. I uploaded it to Blogger just to test things out. Many of these videos of mine don't make the video uploading process and that is why I upload them on You Tube first and then simply copy the code and imbed it in my blog. But, Blogger produces a more clear picture so I prefer to try it out there first before succumbing and relying on You Tube. Anyway, the one below worked and here it is.

Hope you make it through the day....

.
.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Monday July 20, 2009
.
.
Well, happy Monday morning to all. I hope everybody is OK and well and still alive. Being alive is a pretty big deal you know, so just keep that in mind, and don't fall into the trap of being one of the 154,400 people that will die today - if you can help it that is. I know that Karen will be saving as many as she can in the job that she does. .... I trust that you are living in a part of the world that is free from all of the things that may cause your untimely demise. And, I hope you know of the things that I am talking about..... Don't know if you are still out there dear Karen, but I just placed a post over on the main part of my blog to let you know that the deadline is fast approaching for my latest marriage proposal. So, if you have not checked it out please do so - and at least think about it.
.
Well, thanks for checking in everybody and have a nice day. Talk to you all tomorrow, I hope.
.
PS you might want to check out my latest videos over on the right - the video bar top right. Some of these vids were taken with my BlackBerry pager and the picture and sound quality is not that great. But, listen to the ones taken with my camcorder, the sound and picture is much better and get some headphones and listen to the stereo as provided by the cam. It is good sounding in my opinion. I still have to find a way to set my camera on the dash so as not to kill myself when I am driving around. This is the kind of thing that could land you in with the 154,400 if you do not watch what you are doing. So, I do not recommend that you take videos while you are driving.

Some of us are on a roll....

.
.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Sunday July 19, 2009
.
.
Yes indeed, some of us are on a roll and some of us are not. The main thing that is on a roll in these parts right now is the weather. Seems like the good weather just keeps on coming. If you know anything about us Vancouver types you should know that we are constantly complaining about the weather. But, not this year. Seems like all Spring, and now into the Summer, it is non-stop beautiful weather - and it is getting warmer all of the time too. And, there are a few well-needed days of rain mixed in between to keep all the plants and animals healthy. I am sure the strawberry growers out in the Valley must of had a good year as well. So, the weather really is on a roll and it is taking everybody with it - and keeping them happy and warm. Check out the traffic cams below and see how nice it is out.
.
.
Like my title says this morning: " Some of us are on a roll ". Well, I wish I could say that I was on a roll as it relates to the racetrack. But, the the roll is over friends and I have suffered back to back weekend losses. Now, it is not the end of the world of course because I just recently recovered all of my losses for the year. But, it is still discouraging nonetheless. Actually, I am experienced enough now to be able to spot when something is wrong fairly early on in the game. It is not the weather or a sloppy track that is going to hold you back from winning, but rather, it is the horses that are performing that should not be performing that are at the root of my problems. And, these horses tend to show up early on in the game as well. And, they keep showing up and ruining the system as well. I did not even win one single triactor last night and that was quite telling of course. I pulled the plug right after the feature race which was a million dollar race. That was race nine if I recall. I had the winner of course, but then so did everyone else. It was the next two horses that I was interested in as you can appreciate. Well, I did not win and the system failed me again. So, I left early and cut my losses. I figured that was the wisest thing to do under the circumstances. Just a few weeks of racing left so I hope I can have some good days and celebrate a bit.
.
I hope Karen is thinking about my latest marriage proposal as well. Wouldn't that be just awesome if she phoned out of the blue and said " I accept ". Wow. Just think how happy that would make me. Mr. and Mrs Carl Baydala. Can you imagine such a thing? Well, that is what the love gods are imagining so we might as well imagine right along with them so as not to upset them. I think that would be the best approach to take under the circumstances. Don't you agree?
.
Here is a very short video that I took last night after the races. I really have to try and find something to attach the camcorder to the dash or something because this is getting ridiculous. I did some searching on the web and there seems to be devices out there that I am looking for but I really do not know where to look exactly. So, check out my vid and have a nice day.

Painting, Philosophy and Politics....

.
Good Morning Friends
.
.
today is Saturday July 18, 2009
.
.

I just wanted to get some thoughts down on paper while they are still fresh in my mind. I suppose it is the same thing as remembering a good dream; you don't want to leave anything out, especially the good parts or the essential message. Anyway, I was just thinking about philosophy and how we all express ourselves. And, expressing ourselves is just another way of revealing our philosophies anyway.
And, then the idea struck me that that is exactly the same thing that a painter is doing when he is painting a picture. I mean, just think about it. He is going to create a subjective piece of work, and essentially, what he is going to end up with are the thoughts of his mind on paper or canvass. He is going to need some raw data just like the philosopher is going to need. And, what are the philosophers inputs to this final product you might logically enquire? Well, the philosopher can only construct something about which he knows, or thinks he knows. Things like the nature of reality and knowledge and even making comments about objects and time and space and change. These are the main concerns of the philosophers and they will be the raw data and the inputs that will emerge as his philosophy. A philosopher can do no more than make comments about things which he can see and feel, things that we may call his objective realities. But, the philosopher being a man possessed of a brain also has as one of his tools that vast array of things that emerge from his imagination, namely ideas. So, a philosopher, then, is involved in the business of essentially of trying to derive meaning about the things that he knows; he wants to know what these things are in the first instance and what they mean to man.
.
And, so it is with the painter. Every painter is a philosopher of course, and he is just expressing himself in a different form that is all. He has ideas about life and sex and beauty, and in fact, all of the things that philosophers might care to think about. He will be getting his message across in images to us whereas the philosophers that most of us know about will be doing their business with words. But, what they are both trying to accomplish of course is to provide us with their individual meaning of things. So, a philosopher and a painter in this sense are truly one and the same kind of person involved in the same kind of business. So, the next time you examine a painting by some famous person, or even your own painting for that matter, rest assured that contained within that work is also a work of philosophy.
.
Actually, the above thoughts are the product of my mind after watching a video about two men engaged in a conversation. And, that is when I started thinking about the dialectic. And, the dialectic is used quite a bit by philosophers to gain meaning, understanding, and even truth itself. The dialectic accomplishes these things by looking at something from different angles. And, a good healthy debate will bring out competing themes in an argument. So, just as the painter uses his brush to show us some difference, once again, it is the philosopher who uses words to show us what he is trying to express. Now, fortunately for me, and maybe that is why I am dwelling on this topic in this manner, is because the video that I am talking about is related to the problems that we are all facing in the financial world. So, watch this video below and see if you can appreciate what I mean about my ideas about the dialectic. How would a painter describe the current financial mess I wonder?
.

.
Isn't that a great video? I mean, just examine the content. They are talking about finance and what is happening to our economy simply because it is not regulated properly. We are at the mercy of those with greater power than ourselves. And, we got that way because there is no proper representation in the States. And, you wonder I boil over when I start reading and thinking about U.S. politics? Well, Max Kaiser did the heavy lifting for us in this debate; he helped us to see the conflicts that we must live with.
.
Anyway, I just want to leave you with my You Tube video that I took after work last night.

Getting ready for the weekend..again....

.

.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Friday July 17, 2009
.
.
Last day on the job and then relaxation period again. Well, right off the bat friends just a reminder that racing at the Meadowlands racetrack in New Jersey picks up again tomorrow. There is not too much time left actually for the racing season to be over you know. So, if you are thinking of popping into town and doing it up you'd better get moving if you want to get in on the action. I hope Karen and everybody else is listening because this message is for you.
.
Still having some problems with mounting my camcorder so as to get some moving shots. I don't want to be driving and holding a camera trying to make a shoot, so I have to try and figure something out so as to get some more action shots for you. Still working on it, and hopefully not like Ronald Reagan was working on health care, if you know what I mean. Here is a still shot from yesterday after work in Langley just after 18:30. Talk to you all tomorrow. The weather is absolutely fanastic you know - and very warm indeed.

Back to work after a bunch of days off. Here is a video with my new Sony camcorder. I will be able to present you with some better videos and sound, but a lot of these are difficult to upload to Blogger, and I do not know why. The video below is sideways only because I had the camera mounted to my mirror sideways. I will fix this problem for you later, I only just wanted to test the camera with its video and sound. Don't strain your neck too much though.

Have a nice day.

No nibbles and no satisfaction....

.
.
.
.
.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Tuesday July 14, 2009
.
.
The weather yesterday was not that all that great at all. I bought a piece of equipment while I was out and about, but I will not tell you what it was until I get things fixed up this morning - it is defective that is why. I am taking it back as soon as the store opens up. So, when I get a new one and make sure that it will do then I will show you what it is. Until then I am not going to tell you what it is or even explain it to you. Happy Bastille Day and may you have many more.
.
Until further notice then consider today to be a downer of a day. And, no nibbles yet either, so as you can see this is one of those off days.
.
I might stick a song in later on when I am feeling better. I just wanted to check in that is all. I suppose I could play Can't No Satisfaction by the Stones, but I do not even want to do that.
.
I think Brasscheck has got it right:

.
And, this is why they don't like Elliott Spitzer. Because he speaks great gobs of truth and he knows what the problems are and who the troublemakers are. The troublemakers are the corporate socialist bums that pervade Wall Street. What a great guy this Spitzer is.
.
.
Maybe Mr. LaRouche will cheer you up if the above will not do it. We are talking about the collapse of civilization here friends.

Golden Ears and maybe even golden fingers....

Good Morning Friends,

I guess it is the day before Bastille Day in France. But, there are much more important dates than that on my mind as you can probably guess. I though I'd put out another reminder to Karen that the Marriage Proposal is due on August 12 at midnight. And, we are quickly running out of time as you may appreciate. Just one month left and then this current proposal is history and destined for the trash bin. Another wasted effort if no positive results should be forthcoming. Too negative my friends? Thinking that she is not going to say yes, or Heaven forbid, not even get wind of this latest offer? Yes, dear friends there is every chance in the world that good old Karen may never even read this great offer to her. Great in the sense that I just don't go around asking girls to get married for something to do. I bet some guys do that. You know, just for kicks, going around asking any old girl if she wants to get married because that is the kind of person he is. Well, I am not that kind of person as I hope everyone is aware by now. I have only asked one girl to get married in my whole life and this is the very same girl that I am asking again. So, as you can see she must be pretty special for me to concentrate on this one human being. Anyway, I don't want to get too technical or involved here because this little piece is simply acting as a reminder for Karen that I am asking her to get married again. So, maybe she will get wind of this thing and think positively about it when she does. Link to marriage proposal below:
.
.
I have to go on a little mission this morning, but it won't take me too long to do and besides I am taking the car so hopefully the weather will not be all that bad. It turned rather cool and windy yesterday later on in the afternoon. I went for a spin and did some work and etc., but the point is that it was not all that sunny out at all. Oh, I forgot. I cannot remember if I told you guys that I got my transponder in the mail on Friday. Well, if I did not tell you then I'd better tell you now. So, I got my transponder in the mail on Friday. Hope everybody is happy for me. Well, even if you are not happy for me it really does not matter because I am happy for myself. It is an investment you know. Paying a toll to go over a brand new bridge would bother some people, but I can assure you that it does not bother me in the least. And, that is because this transponder is an investment for me. Not only do I get to travel over a spanking brand new bridge for basically peanuts ( just over two dollars one way ), but the bridge will save me time and make me even more money than before. So, thank you Golden Ears Bridge for being born.

.
So, let us hope that everyone gets to be a Golden Ears person and is able to experience this neat new bridge.

Here is that song again by Skeeter Davis. It is actually kind of a loser song you know, like Rubber Ball by Bobby Vee, but I don't care because the message is there and it is a happy song nonetheless. And, I only like happy songs, especially the ones from the sixties.

A system failure....Sue Thompson to the rescue....

.

.

.

In the parking lot of Fraser Downs Racetrack after the races, assessing the situation. The situation was not good. But, the weather was and the drive home was great. That is the silver lining friends.

.

Good Morning Friends,

.

.

today is Sunday July 12, 2009

.

.

What a joke racing was yesterday. I could sense that there was something wrong right off the bat. I should have left early, but I was hungry for the entertainment value of the whole thing.

.

The horse weren't running properly and there were horses that were leading the pack early on and I knew that they should not be there. There were simply too many races where my system horses did not appear when they should have appeared. I won two triactors but that did not help out the cause at all. I walked away a loser and I was not impressed with the quality of the racing going on. What I did notice at the end of the racing, and in race thirteen, is that the track was sloppy. The track was gleaming from the fresh rains. Maybe that would explain things for me a bit. But, then, my system should have done better than that in my opinion, but it did not as I am reporting to you now. The system let me down and it failed to overcome the obstacles at hand. I guess nothing in life is perfect after all, not even my system.

.

Have a nice day and I will get back to you all tomorrow. Hopefully, next Saturday will be better. I am glad you guys didn't show up ( especially Karen ) because I would have just looked like a fool, trying to impress everybody and then failing miserably. So, it is better that you guys show up on a winning night anyhow. Don't forget though: It is like starting the season off fresh anyhow since I broke even last week. So, what is the big sweat anyway? I can't see any, can you?

.

Sing your little heart Sue baby, I am with you on this one:

Oops,

I almost forgot to tell Karen: Just one more month left on my latest Marriage Proposal. Link below. PS. if you ever read this Karen L. I hope you think about it at least because it is actually a real proposal. I am not going out of this life without asking someone to get married, and I picked you. So, I hope you don't really mind.

All pumped up and ready to go....

.
.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Saturday July 11, 2009
.
.
.
.
As you can see dear friends I am all pumped up and ready for the track. From reading my prior posts you will recall that I am rejoicing in back to back weekend wins at the track. In fact, both winning sessions made me even for the year, so that is a pretty big deal as you may appreciate. Now, there are some inherent dangers that come with this kind of jubilation as you may or may not be aware. Gambling, generally speaking, is an addiction and can be very dangerous to your psychological and financial health. For example, if you are hooked on any kind of gambling, whether it be playing bingo or lotteries and even horse racing itself then you already know what the pitfalls are. When you win you want to win more because you have now become greedy. And, when you lose you might get extremely careless and lose even more money trying to recuperate your losses. That is just the nature of the human animal of course, that he wants to protect or advance his position in society at all costs. And gambling fits right in with the human animal and his greedy and protective ways. But, as a professional harness racing player I have learned how to overcome these risks to ' some degree. ' And, that is why I developed my system to attempt to keep myself in line. I stick to my knitting so to speak, and there is no sense in veering away from my established practices. I have already told you that I have strict betting guidelines for myself and I do not have to speculate wildly simply because my system will keep me honest and free from the inherent risks that come with gambling. So, that is why I stick to my system at all times. My system tells me how to proceed and to not go looking for that elusive longshot or combination of horses that will produce the huge payoffs for me. My system does the work; it is a mechanical system that works for me and requires no subjective thinking on my part. I do not have to second guess myself like many other players will do or listen to the touts or be influenced by the odds. For once you veer away from the system then you are putting yourself at greater risk. It is better I have found to stick with the system during the good and the bad times. And, that is because there are good days and there are bad days. You will simply not win or not even come close to winning on some days. So, why would you want to bet more or speculate wildly on these bad days? Just stick to your guns and bet the amounts that the system says that you should bet and the system and the racing gods themselves will take care of you when the time comes to make you a king or queen for a day.
.
Just another note here. I am taking my new Blackberry with me since I have discovered what an excellent all-around device this is. I can take videos with it and maybe there will be some special racetrack moment that will need to be captured and saved for my friends on the internet. And, just a reminder to Karen as well that you can e-mail me if you like should you decide to take advantage of my latest marriage proposal. There is one month remaining in this latest proposal. Marriage Proposal and Blackberry e-mail found right here:

I love Sue Thompson....sad, but true.

.

.

.

.

.

Good Morning Friends,

.

.

today is Friday July 10, 2009

.

.

Last day on the job and then a bunch of days off again. Am I spoiled or what? Who cares anyway because tomorrow is a racing day and that is what we live for friends. Weird eh? - that such a small thing can amuse me, I mean. Well, at least life is giving me some kind of enjoyment so I don't think I should be complaining..and I am not - much.

.

So, just a reminder then if you are popping into town and are thinking of going, post time is 16:00 hrs local time and 19:00 hrs in New Jersey for the racing at the Meadowlands. I am wondering if good old Karen will just make an appearance one of these days and really make things happen. Well, that is up to the racing gods and the love gods now then isn't it?

.

Here is a little video from yesterday at work. I am still tinkering around with my new Blackberry and the video function. The picture quality is not all that great as you can see, but at least I have some functionality, so that is something. Here is a scene at McDonald's in Surrey right after work, just after 17:00 hrs.
.
.

.

And, here is Sue Thompson again, singing Sad Movies..This is where my heart is friends and you cannot mess with the heart so just keep that in mind. I really believe that a person's music is where his or her personality is. Examine one's music if you want to get to the heart of a person I feel.

.

the truth is rather painful friends, as the following vids demonstrate. But, it is not painful for me of course because I have never believed the Official version.

I am now a movie producer....

.
.
.
.
Good Morning Friends,
.
.
today is Thursday July 9, 2009
.
.
It was amazingly slow at work yesterday so I had quite a bit of time on my hands as you may appreciate. It is not the end of the world of course since we had some pretty busy days last week. You can just see how erratic things are that is all. We got these new Blackberries at work just recently and I really did not know what the capabilities of my new equipment were. Our older model machines were quite good on their own as you might expect. Well, in addition to the features on the older version these newer ones have some pretty good media capabilities. It can take a good quality pic as well as a video. I didn't actually know how the machine worked until I started searching for the right buttons to make everything happen. And, like I said I had lots of time on my hands yesterday so that enabled me to figure out how these video features actually functioned.
.
I took one video while at work and I wondered if I could post it onto my blog. Well, luckily the port for the connection cable is the exact same type as my digital camera. So, all I had to do was to connect and well, Blogger did the rest when it came to time to uploading the video from the Blackberry. You can see my first attempt at being a producer of sorts by looking at yesterday's Dear Courier Diary entry. It is a video that I took at the end of the day down in White Rock.
.
And, when I got home I made another little video and uploaded that as well. I thought I would try and explain my Harness Racing Triactor System and detail the results from the Meadowlands Racetrack for last Saturday, July 4th. I won four triactors on that day so at least I had something to brag about. Just scroll down a bit once you get to the blog post below and you will be able to see the video capabilities of my new pager. This was my first attempt at a production so you can appreciate that is not totally professional. But, I hope to improve my methods as I post videos later on throughout my blog.
.
.
.
.
And, while we are the topic of racing of course, just a reminder that racing happens again on Saturday. That is racing at the Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey. Post time is 16:00 hrs local time. So, if you are popping into town and what to check things out you know where to find me. Hope to see some of my friends and acquaintances there some time.
.
Well, that is all for now friends.
.
Still lurking around 1969 in music land since I have not moved on in my life yet as per my personal history, that is. I am thinking of doing something on the carnival business or Simon Fraser University next as I chronicle my life for you. So, I hope that you are all looking forward to those posts when I get around to producing them.
.
Anyhow, here is the song of the day for you:
